I've seen other "Sticker Machines" that look like the Kodak Machine - are they the same?

No! There are a few that look "similar" in shape, but are definitely not the same. Aside from the superior quality in the PhotoSticker itself (try some of the other machines and see the difference for yourself), this is a Brand Name recognized by all, associated with photos. There is no question that Brand Name matters, and Kodak draws them in.
Furthermore, this machine was designed and developed by Kodak. Only the best components were used in manufacturing this machine. Before I invested in my first machines, I discussed the machine with a "veteran vending technician". He described the StickerPrint Kiosk as being "bullet proof" in comparison to others out on the market. His reassurance that the machine is very reliable has proven to be our experience as well.

What will be the Insurance needs that I may need to obtain for liabilities?

Typically you will need general liability ins. for the large malls (1-2 million General Liability). Some malls or tourist destinations may require being a "named insured" on your policy. Otherwise, many revenue-share locations won't require it (but I would recommend having it – it’s relatively inexpensive).

From where and how are machines shipped? Where do we pick-up?

Shipped from NH, usually via North American Van Lines directly to a central location (your home, or business...). Drop shipping to individual locations is very expensive.

What do shipping charges run?

This Varies. However, the minimum amount is usually around 400.00 (whether you ship 1 or 2 machines -it takes 2 to meet minimum weight requirements). After that you can figure about $200 per machine for 2 or more. That's “currently”. Rates are quoted upon request and are good for 14 days (they are lower now than they were 6 months ago -gas prices etc. effect prices)

How often do I check or collect from machine? (This affects time involved)

This is determined by how busy the locations are, and also the type of location. I go to my busy locations once a week, others every other week. And I have some busy locations that are far away that I go to every 10 days. You do not have to go this often, but I have found that the machines can start looking "dirty" (hand prints etc.) after this amount of time, and you get more plays from a clean machine than a dirty one.
I spend about 15-20 minutes per machine (collecting the money, printing out the accounting screen, and wiping down the machine with Windex).

How do I get repairs done and by whom? What kind of cost can I expect?

I do my own and would suggest you'd get comfortable doing the same. Like anything, there's a learning curve, but it’s fairly easy and if you are comfortable with computers, your way ahead of the game. Otherwise fantasy entertainment can provide service for a fee.

What is involved in first time set-up?

This is where the vast majority of the work is. Uncrating the unit, moving to it the site, some minor assembly (curtain & curtain rod mounted, key board & mouse to computer, setting up the software for your location/accounting & time/date for the computer. Modifying the Graphics to those you want & installing Graphics updates as you purchase them (or as I provide them as incentives...:)

How do you determine % to pay to landlord?

I use an escalating commission percentage. The rate I pay depends on how many vends per day location averages. I start at 20%. Most are in the 20%-25% range. Some require a base rent (like the good mall locations). How much rent you pay is determined in the negotiating process - which I can help you with. You’ll find negotiating strategies, forms and templates for proposals and the actual escalating commission chart I use in downloadable forms in the website.

What OS does the computer run on?

Windows 95

How are the graphics changed, and how does it track the usage (accounting)?

There is a simple windows based software system for all this. Graphics are grouped in “themes” and can be saved in “sets”. I have a set for each month with graphics appropriate for the season, or holiday relative to the upcoming month.
The Accounting is simple in that the accounting screen tracks everything you’ll need and is cumulative. Each time you remove the money you press memory print on the printer and the screen (accounting info) automatically prints out on the stickerprint material.
The system is also equipped with “PC Anywhere” so you could call it up (if hooked up to a phone line) to monitor usage etc.

Is there any maintenance concern with the Stickers?

If you are wondering about a potential maintenance issue, I understand your concern. It was, in fact, my biggest objection before I invested in my first machines. I was worried whether I would even be able to place them because of this very concern.

To make a long story short, I expanded to over 30 of these booths. I'm in most of the local major malls, and I have not had a single complaint about stickers being "stuck everywhere" (even at those malls who like you and I, voiced some concern up front and gave me a "test run"). I'm renewing contracts at all my locations.

I believe the reason this product works, is the same reason that it does not cause a maintenance problem. That reason is that the vast majority (80% or more) of the vends come from babysitting age girls - most of them probably are babysitters because they have money to spend. And they are responsible. And they don't like to waste their money (or StickerPrints).

I also get some parents with their toddlers, and some couples. The one place I do see the stickers stuck is on the "back-lit" portion right on my booths. I actually like it because it increases the vends. It seems they like to have their faces in the "lime-light". In addition I have created a PhotoSticker Album which I can dispense from my booths. It gives kids a place to collect, trade, and save their photos.

I offer to put the Booths in as a "test" so location owners can see for themselves, with no cost or obligations.
